RESTAURANT - Sevensins the Kitchen Cafe Jakarta

If you're in Pantai Indah Kapuk area, try to come to a restaurant called Sevensins the Kitchen Cafe. This restaurant is located at around Rukan Gold Coast. I think the concept of this restaurant are very unique and interesting. From outside the restaurant we will see the atmosphere of garden filled with lots of grass and a wooden chair or table. On the first floor there is also a small bar.

Not only the first floor, this restaurant also has a basement which would have a different interior. Darker place and only illuminated with yellow light.

Food menu here are many and varied, ranging from Soups, Salads, Burgers, Steak, until some dessert menu, like Cheese Cake and Panna Cotta. Oh yes! This restaurant also offers light snacks named Bagel.

Salmon Salad
Salmon Salad IDR 28K
This salad was a delicious appetizer for me. In this menu there were a lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and of course salmon meats. The salmon meat doesn't smell fishy, and the lettuce is still fresh. I like the salad dressing. It feels a little sour but fresh.

Utterly Butterly
Utterly Butterly IDR 60K
This is the main course called Utterly Butterly, the buttery grilled dory served in a lemon sauce. The fish was tender and soft. A little dry, but I liked the lemon sauce. I felt sour and sweet in my mouth. All fresh! This menu comes with a fresh salad, and mashed potato. So make me full.

Original Crepe
Original Crepe
Don't forget to try the new dessert menu. Original Crepe! Crepe with a thin sheet, filled with SilverQueen chocolate. Who doesn't love it? The chocolate was melted in my mouth. Yummy and delicious dessert!

Coconut Vodka
Coconut Vodka
It's not complete if you're not try the beverages menu here. What it feels like when the Coconut meets Vodka? Yes! It's really good. I tasted the soda, vodka, syrup, and also there was a Nata de Coco. Very enjoyable when the weather is hot.

Overall, I really enjoyed my lunch. The menu was interesting and certainly delicious to eat. Once again thank you Sevensins the Kitchen Cafe for the invitation. Success!

RECIPE - Vanilla Panna Cotta with Strawberry Sauce

Hello foodies! I recently planned to make Panna Cotta, which is an Italian dessert made by blending thick cream, egg white and honey. The blend is then baked in a bain-marie in a low oven. The original Panna Cotta really does feel and taste like "cooked cream," but requires very careful monitoring of oven temperatures and timing. Alternative recipes, mostly used in restaurants outside of Italy, use simmering together cream, milk, and sugar, mixing this with gelatin, and letting it cool until set.

It's not difficult to make Panna Cotta. You can also make this popular dessert by yourself. It only takes less than an hour to make it. But you have to wait until the pudding is "set".

Ingredients
For the Panna Cotta

  • 3 gelatine leaves
  • 250ml/9fl oz milk
  • 250ml/9fl oz double cream
  • 1 vanilla pod, split lengthways, seeds scraped out
  • 25g/1oz sugar

For the sauce

  • 175g/6oz sugar
  • 175ml/6fl oz water
  • splash cherry liqueur
  • 350g/12oz raspberries

To serve

  • 4 sprigs fresh mint
  •  icing sugar, to dust

Preparation method
1.  For the panna cotta, soak the gelatine leaves in a little cold water until soft.
2.  Place the milk, cream, vanilla pod and seeds and sugar into a pan and bring to a simmer. Remove the vanilla pod and discard.
3.  Squeeze the water out of the gelatine leaves, then add to the pan and take off the heat. Stir until the gelatine has dissolved.
4.  Divide the mixture among four ramekins and leave to cool. Place into the fridge for at least an hour, until set.
5.  For the sauce, place the sugar, water and cherry liqueur into a pan and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer until the sugar has dissolved.
6.  Take the pan off the heat and add half the raspberries. Using a hand blender, blend the sauce until smooth.
7.  Pass the sauce through a sieve into a bowl and stir in the remaining fruit.
8.  To serve, turn each panna cotta out onto a serving plate. Spoon over the sauce and garnish with a sprig of mint. Dust with icing sugar.

You gonna fall in love with this Panna Cotta. It tasted creamy in my mouth. Happy Monday foodies!

RESTAURANT - Burangrang Dusun Bambu Family Leisure Park Bandung

If you have entered into Dusun Bambu Family Leisure Park, you can try one of main semi-fine dining restaurant in it. The restaurant named Burangrang. Burangrang consists of 3 floors, of course, indoor and outdoor areas. If you choose to sit in the outdoor, you can enjoy views of the lake and Burangrang mountain. This restaurant is perfect for family. The interior is quite simple but modern with Indonesian ambiance. I really like the color, fresh and nature with a touch of natural stone and wood wicker.

Outdoor areas

Cozy place

Favorite spot and so many pillows!

I'm in love with their outdoor areas because they have a cozy place and we can enjoy the scenery. But if you sit there during the day, you will feel the heat of the sun lol. So, I decided to move to indoor areas.

Indoor areas
The indoor areas also turned out to be interesting. Neat and clean with many pillows there.

For the menu is Indonesian cuisine. Unfortunately, the menu here is not complete and some of the menus are already sold out. There are a few favorite menu in this restaurant.

Ayam Bakar Bambu Betutu
Grilled marinated chicken with betutu paste served in bamboo with grilled liwet rice, fresh vegetables, plecing and sambal matah. Very surprising because the portion was big (I mean the plate). The salad was fresh and the chicken rich in flavor. This menu makes me satisfied.

Ayam Bakar Bambu betutu IDR 62,5K

Nasi Goreng Dusun Bambu
Fried rice served with grilled soya chicken, fried egg, vegetables and cracker. Honestly, I'm not so interested with this menu because nothing special there. The chicken is too small for me, but the taste was okay.

Nasi Goreng Dusun Bambu IDR 45K

Pisang goreng Caramel
I love the dessert one! It's the perfect combination between fried banana, caramel, and vanilla ice cream. I felt the crunchy when I bite the banana. Sweet tooth!

RECIPE - Classic Mac and Cheese

I don't know exactly when I should start to blogging. But I thought "why not?". So, I've decided to start it. I really like to cook, especially to bake some cookies. Precisely, I love FOOD. So, I'm here to share some of my experiences about food, restaurants, or recipes. This is my Instagram account @yovitaananto.

This morning I cooked something simple but it can change your mood instantly. I love to cook pasta, simple ingredients, easy to make. Classic Mac and Cheese! You can make it by yourself.

What You Need

Ingredients
1 pound pasta, any shape
1 1/2 cups whole milk

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2-3 cups shredded cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon powdered mustard

Optional extras (cook before adding): Ham, bacon, onions, peas, mushrooms, peppers, or broccoli

Instructions
1. Boil the Pasta: Bring about 4 quarts of water to a boil over high heat in the pasta pot. Add the pasta and a tablespoon of salt. Cook until the pasta is al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
2. Warm the Milk: When the pasta has finished cooking, prepare the cheese sauce. Begin warming 1 cup of the milk in the saucepan over medium heat. Whisk together the remaining 1/2 cup of milk and the flour until there are no lumps. When you just start to see tendrils of steam rising from the warming milk, whisk in the milk-and-flour mixture. Continue whisking gently until the milk thickens slightly to the consistency of heavy cream, 3-4 minutes.
3. Make the Cheese Sauce: Turn the heat to low and begin mixing handfuls of cheese into the milk. Stir in the salt and mustard. Stir until all the cheese has melted and the sauce is creamy. Taste and adjust the seasonings as desired. Remove the sauce from heat.
4. Combine the Pasta and Cheese Sauce: In a large serving bowl, combine the pasta and 1/2 of the cheese sauce. Stir to coat the pasta evenly. Add the second half of the sauce and any extra add-ins.
5. Serving and Storing Leftovers: Serve the mac and cheese immediately while still warm. Leftovers will keep for up to a week and can be reheated in the microwave. If the sauce is a little dry after re-heating, mix in a splash of milk to make it creamy again.

VoilĂ ! Now you can make Classic Mac and Cheese by yourself. I hope you enjoy this weekend.
